Created for Stephanie's Skin Solutions by DISCOVER TEAS
This herbal tea blend, available at Stephanie's Skin Solutions in Williamsburg, was created with the intention to support healthy skin, reduce the damage of UV rays, increase and balance collagen production and reduce the effects of day to day stresses that result in premature aging. Whether you have oily or dry skin, or are just trying to protect your skin to stay looking younger longer, this blend is designed to help provide a foundation working from the inside out. As an added benefit, it tastes great with notes of apple, lemon, lavender and honey.
What's in it and how does it work?
Ti Kuan Yin Oolong: to help balance the sebaceous glands and help reduce oily skin or increase oils as needed. Oolongs are known for increasing metabolism and breaking down trans fats and saturated fats.
Lemon Mate: with 24 vitamins, 15 amino acids and plethora of antioxidants, yerba mate increases energy, strengthens the immune system, cleanses the blood and may help prevent cancerous cell mutations.
Calendula: used for hundreds of years to treat skin conditions, soothe irritated skin and help restore dry or patchy skin. It helps balance collagen and moisture content in the dermis.
Oatstraw: helpful for nourishing skin, hair and nails. It also helps reduce stress, a major factor in psoriasis and eczema outbreaks. Calendula and oat straw are combined in this blend to stimulate more collagen production.
Dandelion: to help cleanse toxins from the blood and liver. The liver is always a key factor in healthy skin as toxins are only released through sweat, urination or excretion.
Milk Thistle: gentle yet powerful cleanser of the liver. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and has anti-oxidants that inhibit UV induced oxidative stress.
Lavender: used to treat burns as it is antiseptic, anti-infectious and helps generate new, healthy skin cells. Lavender may also help reduce stress.
This herbal tea contains a little bit of caffeine due to the oolong tea, so if you are caffeine sensitive, it is best to drink earlier in the day.
